Students and staff at Harvey Elementary School have turned empathy into action this month, collecting over 300 boxes of cereal for the Kenosha Welcome Center as part of the school’s character focus on Empathy.
The cereal drive—organized by one of the substitute teachers, Justine Hammelev-Jones, aims to support local families facing food insecurity and highlight the importance of caring for others. The collection culminates in a colorful “Cereal Cascade,” where students line up boxes, watch them fall and cheer as they are delivered to the pantry.
