My name is Mrs. Heather Connolly and I am proud to be the Principal of Frank Elementary School in Kenosha, Wisconsin! In 1993, I first entered the doors of Frank School as a new teacher assigned to work in Special Education. Luckily, I had the opportunity to work under Gordy Hess and with other teachers that have now gone on to be Principals and Deans (Marty Pitts, Frank Matrise, Teri Giampietro, Mike Makowka, Richard Coshun, Jack Musha, and Scott Kennow). I really had a great start and training by choosing to teach at this great school.
After a few years in Special Education I moved into the classroom teaching 3 years of third grade, one year of second grade, 5 years of first grade and a couple of years as a Reading Resource Teacher. In all, I taught for 14 years at Frank Elementary before being named the Principal in July of 2007 (a dream come true)! This year, 2020-2021, will be my 28th year here and 14th year as Principal.
I am also the proud mother of 4 wonderful children, Drew, Patrick, Thomas, and Aryanna and have been married to my husband Andrew for 25 years. I grew up in Kenosha and have been lucky to raise my family here! My children are often seen at Frank School functions. In 2012 I was named KUSD Administrator of the Year. I have also received The Herb Kohl Excellence in Leadership Award, PDK Excellence in Leadership, and Kenosha County YMCA Volunteer of the Year. I serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Harborside Academy, Kenosha Montessori School, and the ELCA Outreach Center.
The best part of being in the Frank Family are the children! They are so caring and I take my part in their lives very seriously. Some of my former students are now parents in this building and that is a legacy that I feel proud to share!
Welcome to Frank!
