Board meeting recap: April 27, 2020

The 4/27/20 meeting consisted of the annual organizational meeting, as well as the regular monthly meeting. Below is a recap of both meetings.

    • Discussion Preliminary Budget Forecast 2020-2021 – DISCUSSION ONLY
    • Discussion/Action Negotiations with the Kenosha Education Association for the 2020- 2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement – APPROVED
      • A total base wage increase of 1.81% will be applied to the teacher salary structure and implemented for the 2020-21 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020.
    • Discussion/Action Level/Tier Advancement for all Employee Groups and Base Wage Increases for Employee Groups Other Than Teachers – APPROVED
      • A total base wage increase of 1.81% will also be applied to the AST, administrative support professional, community and student support, educational support professional, facilities, food services, and interpreter salary and implemented for the 2020-21 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020.
      • Level advancements for the 2020-21 fiscal year will be implemented effective July 1, 2020, for all regular full-time equivalent employees in the following groups who were hired before Jan. 1, 2020: administrative support professionals; community and student support; educational support professionals; facilities; food services; interpreters; and teachers.
      • Step advancements for the 2020-21 fiscal year will be implemented effective July 1, 2020, for all regular full-time equivalent employees in the AST group who were hired before Jan. 1, 2020.
      • Tier movements for the 2020-21 fiscal year will be implemented July 1, 2020, for teachers who turn in the required documentation to the Office of Human Resources on or before June 30, 2020 (may be extended to July 31, 2020, when decided this will be communicated to the teacher group).

    • Discussion/Action Voluntary Benefit Offerings – APPROVED, more info forthcoming with Open Enrollment
