2020 Summer School

As most of you know, school buildings have been mandated to remain closed through June 30, 2020, per the Safer at Home Order #28. Due to this order, summer school will be offered virtually for students entering 1st through 12th grades in fall of 2020. To ensure a quality online learning experience, it is preferred that participating students have a dedicated computer and Wi-Fi access. Español

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:

Schedule (except Frank and Wilson): Begins Monday, June 22, and ends Thursday, July 23. 

Schedule for Frank and Wilson: Begins Monday, June 15, and ends Thursday, July 2.

Classes will run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. Teachers will be available on Friday to make individual student contact. The daily schedule for your child will include:

  • Live or recorded virtual instruction in reading or math (30 to 45 minutes)

  • Independent work

  • Enrichment and/or intervention activities

*Current 5th grade students will register at their boundary middle school for summer school.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten will not be offered this year.

Online Registration: Registration for 2020 Summer School should be completed online through the Elementary Summer School Registration webpage by Monday, June 1. This year’s registration will be tied to boundary schools because instruction will be provided virtually. This opportunity is available to both public and private school students. Students who are already registered should not register again. If you no longer wish for your child to participate in summer school, please notify us by completing the school’s enrollment cancellation form located on the registration webpage.


MIDDLE SCHOOL:

Schedule: Begins Monday, June 22, and ends Thursday, July 23. 

Classes will run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. No classes will be held on Fridays. The daily schedule for your child will include:

  • Live or recorded virtual instruction in reading or math (30 to 45 minutes)

  • Independent work

  • Enrichment and/or intervention activities 

Middle School Summer Camps will not be offered this year.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Schedule (except eSchool):

  • Session 1: Begins Monday, June 15, and ends Monday, July 6. 
  • Session 2: Begins Tuesday, July 7, and ends Monday, July 27. 

Teacher office hours will be 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

Schedule for eSchool: 

  • One Session: Begins Monday, June 15, and ends on Friday, July 24.

eSchool Teachers will share office hours with their students prior to the start of the session.

Physical education (except eSchool): All students registered for Session 1 and Session 2 of physical education have been placed in the online course. If you no longer wish to have your student in this course, complete the school’s PE enrollment cancellation form on the High School Summer School webpage. Students will be required to complete online coursework in addition to keeping a physical activity log. 

eSchool Physical education course: eSchool has notified all students of their status for the summer course. Students will be required to complete online coursework in addition to keeping a physical activity log. 

Credit recovery (not offered at eSchool): Registration for Credit Recovery will remain open through June 15, 2020. This course will function as it does during the school year, except students will work at home rather than in a lab at school. Register today on the High School Summer School webpage.

Jump Start will not be offered in summer 2020.
