Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Abuse
Prevention/Intervention Program
This program provides alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention education and intervention services to students. School counselors and social workers at all Kenosha Unified schools are available to support this program.
Referral, Screening & Support
- Referral of students who are suspected of using or who have concerns about their use or a friend/loved one's use of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs.
- Self-referral is encouraged.
- Referral of students who violate the district Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Policies.
- Screening and individual counseling.
- Support to help students address chemical abuse.
- Parent and community agency communication to address concerns.
Classroom Education
- Grade 6: Prevention activities/presentations through advisories.
- Grade 7: Project Alert.
- Grade 8: Project Alert Booster Lessons.
- Grade 9: Team/Advisory Presentations, After-School Alcohol and Other Drug Education Classes for students who have violated the district policies.
- Grade 10: Health Class Presentations, Team/Advisory Presentations, After-School Alcohol and Other Drug Education Classes for students who have violated the district policies.
- Grade11: Team/Advisory Presentations, After-School Alcohol and Other Drug Education Classes for students who have violated the district policies.
- Grade 12: Team/Advisory Presentations, After-School Alcohol and Other Drug Education Classes for students who have violated the district policies.
