Special Education

Kenosha Unified School District #1 is a school district of 22,772 (2008-2009) students. The majority of the 3079 students (Sept. 2008) in special education are served at their neighborhood school and services are provided based upon the level of need demonstrated and documented on the Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Student Support

Student Support

Student Support Programs are an integral part of students' daily educational environments, and the program is designed to produce positive changes in student learning and student behavior. Our purpose is to provide and support the delivery of specific skills and information in a proactive, preventative manner in order to ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve school success. Delivered by School Counselors, School Social Workers, School Psychologists, and other Pupil Services Professionals, our programs also provide intervention and referral services for those students who are experiencing difficulties in their lives which interfere with academic achievement.
