PreK is designed to serve children who are four years old by September 1st. These children attend their neighborhood school for their Early Education experience. PreK is also available in childcare centers that collaborate with KUSD. Collaborative centers provide the KUSD PreK program for a half day and then provide childcare before/after the KUSD program to meet individual family needs. Families that elect to attend a KUSD program located at the childcare center will need to pay for the childcare that is provided. PreK is available with limited enrollment in all of our elementary schools and fifteen local childcares (see online listing). If you are interested in having your child participate in a PreK classroom, please contact your neighborhood elementary school or childcare center.
The children/families that participate in this program are financially responsible to:
- Purchase school supplies
- Pay for a materials fee
- Pay for breakfast/lunch(unless receiving free/reduced)
- Pay for milk for snack
- Pay for any school activities such as field trips
