KENOSHA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Kenosha, Wisconsin
December 1, 2009

School Board Candidate:

To assist you in filing for a position on the School Board, we have the following forms
available:

  1. Nomination Papers for Nonpartisan Office
  2. Declaration of Candidacy Form
  3. Campaign Registration Statement

A completed, signed registration statement must be filed with the District's School Board Clerk by every candidate and, if they have one, co-signed by their campaign treasurer. The candidate may appoint himself/herself or any other elector as his/her campaign treasurer. The candidate's qualification for office is not complete until the completed registration statement is filed. This registration statement must be filed whether or not the candidate expects to receive any contributions or make any disbursements.

The Declaration of Candidacy form, properly signed and notarized, and the nomination papers must be returned no later than 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010.

Nomination papers require between 100 and 200 signatures. We cannot accept more than 200 signatures.

The School District boundaries are those portions of the City of Kenosha and Village of Pleasant Prairie lying each of I-94 and the Town of Somers.

The manner in which the candidate writes his/her name on the "Campaign Registration Statement" and the "Declaration of Candidacy" is the way it will appear on the ballot. Nicknames are not acceptable (see instructions on back of declaration form).

The Primary Election, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, and the Spring Election will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

Additional information can be obtained from the State Elections Board, 608-266-8005.
