Busing Adjustment for High Schools Regarding the 2017 ACT Assessments on February 28 and March 1

Wisconsin requires all grade 11 students participate in the ACT assessments, which are scheduled for February 28 and March 1.  The following modifications apply to the High School schedules for February 28 (ACT Plus Writing) and March 1 (ACT WorkKeys).  Please note that certain schools have specific adjustments, and you may contact your building for further information.

February 28 Arrival Plans:

  • February 28 will be a Juniors only day for all KUSD high schools.  No school for grades 9, 10, or 12.  Grades 6-8 for Harborside will arrive in their usual manner.
  • The normal high school a.m. routes will collect high school students at their typical times, except for:
    • Reuther will have an earlier start time of 7:30 a.m.
    • Hillcrest students will be picked up 35 minutes earlier than normal.  Hillcrest students need to report at 8:15 a.m.

February 28 Departure Plans:

  • Lakeview shuttle will depart and Harborside shuttles will depart at 12:40 p.m.
  • Reuther will depart at 12:45 p.m.
  • Yellow buses and city buses will depart from Bradford, Indian Trail, and Tremper boundary high schools at 1:00 p.m.
  • Hillcrest will depart at 1:45 p.m.

March 1 Arrival Plans:

  • March 1 will be a normal start time for grade 11, with a delayed start for grades 9, 10, and 12 except:
    • Harborside grades 6-8 will report as normal.
    • Reuther will have an earlier start time of 7:30 a.m.
    • Hillcrest students will be picked up 35 minutes earlier and report at 8:15 a.m.
  • All morning high school routes except Hillcrest will run at their normal times.
  • Shuttles to Lakeview and Harborside will also run at their normal times.
  • Yellow buses will complete a second a.m. run with about a 4 hour delay, with delivery to boundary schools between 10:40-10:45 a.m.
    • This is to service grades 9, 10, and 12.
    • City buses will not complete a second run.
  • Lakeview and Harborside shuttles will complete a second run and deliver students by 11:15 a.m.

March 1 Departure Plans:

  • Hillcrest will depart at 1:45 p.m.
  • All other high schools will dismiss at their normal times with normal bus routes.
